I missed the press night for this show but was lucky enough to catch it before the end of its run at the Garrick Theatre. This show was an exquisite cabaret celebrating the beautiful songs written by Don Black. I wasnt familiar with the name Don Black before going in, but of course I recognised a few of his songs, such as Diamonds are Forever and Sunset Boulevard. I also loved discovering so many new songs which I know I will be adding to my playlist to belt out in my room. T
I attended the press night for the UK tour of 'Barnum' at the New Wimbledon Theatre last night and I had such high expectations going in. The show did not live up to them. The entire cast was so talented, and are not at fault for my lack of enjoyment of this show. In fact, I must credit the ensemble as they were one of only parts of the show that didn't stop me from zoning out completely. I had the pleasure of getting to watch The Girls I Look Up To and was touched by this captivating performance. The play follows the birthday celebrations of Evelyn over the years as time passes and the characters progress through their lives. It explores grief in such a profound way whilst highlighting the importance of having strong female friendships.
