Annie - Review!

I have just arrived home from watching ‘Annie’ at the New Wimbledon Theatre and immediately knew the first thing I had to do was write my review. Where do I even begin?!?What an incredible show! I cannot name a single thing I disliked about this production.

I got immediate goosebumps when the first song began, and this was not the only time during the show. I got chills multiple times from the insane amount of power and talent that was channeled through these beautiful performances. I found myself holding back tears on multiple occasions at how beautifully everything was portrayed.

The absolute star that played Annie was Victoria Alsina and she SHONE! wow her mix was insane and her vocals were so powerful and clean. Every single note was hit to perfection and she absolutely lit up the stage with every single choice she made. She created such a loveable Annie and had every single person in the audience rooting for her.

I must say that the casting for this show was done to absolute perfection! Every single actor nailed their role and truly captured their characters’ personalities. La Voix was absolutely incredible as Miss Hannigan and had the entire audience cackling. Tanisha-Mae Brown was stunning as Grace Farrell and stole the audiences hearts. And I must give an honourable mention to the infamous role of the Star to Be played by Sophie Elmes who’s voice was so clear and powerful!

Watching this show was truly a reminder of why I love musical theatre and how beautiful it is. Shows like Annie bring so many different types of people together, and this is a show that everyone will love, it’s such an easy watch! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This is definitely one of the top shows of the year!

Everyone must see this! It radiates joy and is perfect for everyone! Please go and see it if you get the chance, it is touring all around the UK!
